His Favorite Toy Page 3
"Thanks for the ride." She kept her back to him, her hand twisting and pushing open the door to her apartment.
"Make me dinner?"
"You want me to make you dinner?" She paused, her door half open as she looked over her shoulder.
"Please?" He gave her a heart stopping smile, her insides fluttering. “I just moved in, I don’t have any food.”
"I guess I could."
She let him inside, shutting the door the moment he was in. He looked around but was silent.
"I'm not sure what I have." She mumbled and left her heels at the door as she went into the kitchen.
She pulled open the refrigerator door to see what she had, but there really wasn’t much.
"Um. Chicken?" She pulled it out and went to the cabinet. "Breaded chicken?" She pulled out bread crumbs. "And-" She looked in another pantry and found pasta with a jar of sauce next to it. "Spaghetti?"
"Sounds great." He gave her another smile, causing her heart to skip a beat.
Why was he affecting her like this? It had to be anxiety, her mind anticipating when he’ll doing something mean to her. She shook her head, this was all too much at once. She need to focus on what she was doing. She preheated the oven and started getting everything ready.
"Have any movies?"
She turned to see him leaning on the counter, his elbow resting on the surface with his chin in the palm of his hand. She caught the way his eyes shot up to her face the moment she turned around causing yet another blush to spread across her face. She was sure her face would be permanently red from now on.
"I have Netflix. It's all I can afford."
"That'll work. I'll find something." He turned and walked off to her living room area.
She stared at him for a few moments. The TV flashing on as he turned on her PS3, the Netflix screen coming up with her name under a teal icon. He seemed so different. She shrugged it off, trying to convince herself that maybe he grew up. While the oven preheated, she went to her room to change. Knowing how clumsy she was, she'd spill red sauce all over her rather expensive white shirt. Tristan was always making her buy high priced, name brand items. He claimed they were better and looked more professional than the 'cheap shit' she wanted to buy. She only had two white shirts, that was all she could afford at the time and she needed them for work.
She stripped off her outfit, laying it nicely on a chair sitting in the corner of her room, and went to her dresser. She briefly looked down at her lacy underwear and bras. They were another thing Tristan said she needed to pay attention to. He had made her toss out all of her comfortable cotton stuff and switch everything to lacy, frilly stuff. He even made her get a couple of thongs but she used those as a last resort. She had finally gotten use to the lace against her skin, they weren't as comfortable as the cotton stuff had been but they were a lot sexier. She'd be lying if she said she didn't like that. She pulled on a pair of loose lounge pants and a baggy black t-shirt from her dresser and quickly pulled them on. She needed get back to making dinner.

Once back in the kitchen, she began breading the chicken and set a pot of water on the stove to boil. Her mind focused on the food, even though it was a very simple meal. She had a pan lined with tin foil that the chicken sat on and placed it in the oven once it hit 450. The chicken would take 20 minutes. She flipped the chicken after 10 minutes and added the pasta to the bubbling water. She would wait for everything to be done before heating up the sauce and allow the chicken to settle a bit. She bent over to look into the oven, checking to make sure the chicken was okay. A loud whistle came from behind her, making her bolt straight up and spin around.
"Mm." Theo was staring at her again, his tongue sliding across his lips.
She told herself he was probably enjoying the smell of the food even though his eyes were on her.
"Did you find a movie?"
"Yea." He moved closer to her.
"Dinner is almost done." Her voice sounded feeble as she took a small step back.
"Smells good."
He was only a few inches from her now, his eyes burning into her.
"Why are you staring at me?" She turned her head completely away from him, all confidence lost as he inched closer.
"I like how you look."
Her eyes widened, finding herself speechless once more. It seemed like a compliment, in an odd way. Odd because it was Theo who said it. She swallowed and licked her dry lips.
"Why? Don't you like skinny girls?"
She refocused on the food, turning off the burner and brought the pot of spaghetti over to the sink to dump it into the strainer. After all the water was drained, she dropped it back into the pot with half a stick of butter to keep it from sticking together. While she stirred in the butter, he gave her a response that surprised her.
"No. What gave you that impression?" His arms crossed over his broad chest.
"All the girls you dated in high school." She spoke it as if it was obvious.
"Those girls were easy, that's all." He shrugged as if that explained everything.
She rolled her eyes, what a pig. She emptied the jar of sauce into a pot and turned on the other burner to heat it up. She pulled out the chicken and placed the pan on top of two oven mitts that she had set out on the counter.
"Whatever." She mumbled, grabbing two plates from the cabinet.
Two strong arms slipped under her arms, his hands resting on the counter in front of her. She tried to move or turn around but he had her locked in place.
"What are you doing?" He heart slammed in her chest.
"You don't believe me?" He spoke close to her ear, sending shivers up and down her spine.
"No."
His hands lifted from the counter and landed on her hips. She felt a hand lower and cup one side of her ass. She let out a gasp, her stomach leaping up and she almost dropped the plates in her hands. She tried again to move away, but he only pushed his body against hers, pinning her to the counter. She sucked in a deep breath, her mind racing.
"What are you doing? Get your hands off me!"
His response was letting his large hand squeeze harder. His other hand brushing away the hair on the right side of her face. She squeaked and squirmed in place, but he kept her glue to where she was. She couldn't even budge him a little, it was like she was like trying to move a building. She could feel her lungs constricting and the air she breathed in seemed thicker.
"Theo!" She whined.
"Mm, say my name again, babe." He chuckled deeply, his lips moving close to her ear.
"Stop teasing me." Her voice barely making it past her lips.
"I can't help it." He pressed his lips gently to her ear.
She felt a bolt of electricity shoot through her the moment his lips touched her. She took a deep breath, her heart pounded in her ears. She opened her mouth to beg him again but he suddenly moved away. She let out a heavy sigh, her stupid heart beating erratically and sending tremors throughout her body.
"I'm hungry." He took a plate from her and loaded it with a bunch of spaghetti, a piece of chicken, and a big spoonful of sauce.
She silently handed him a knife and fork, which he took and walked off to the couch. She sighed heavily, and plated half of the food for herself. The other half she packed in a square container and placed in the fridge for lunch tomorrow. The moment she joined him on the couch, his eyes were on her.
"Where's the rest of your food?"
"I saved it for my lunch tomorrow, then I don't have to have a salad." She scrunched her nose.
"Why would you have to eat a salad?"
"My coworker makes them for me and our other friend every day." She groaned, thinking of all the different types Tristan tried to force on her.
He chuckled, stuffing his mouth with chicken and noodles. She grabbed the remote sitting next to him and hit play on the movie he picked. It was a horror movie called Hush and was about a deaf woman who was being torme
nted by a robber slash murderer. The man taunted her, knowing she couldn't hear him. They were only about 20 minutes in when they had both finished their food. She grabbed his plate and brought them to the kitchen counter before returning. As the movie went on, the plot chilled her more and more. The woman wanted to escape but was stopped every time she tried. Aurora huddled into herself, her knees drawn up to her chest. She didn't really get frightened of these kinds of movies but they did creep her out while watching them. At some point during the movie, Theo grabbed her wrist and pulled her to him, laying down so that they were laying side by side. She tried to stop him, her panic rising but she was no match for his strength.
"Stop." His grip tightened around her waist, his eyes on the TV.
Instead of fighting him more, she gave give in. Slowly, her body relaxed and almost melted into his warmth. Her head rested on his bicep, her body fitting perfectly against his. She felt herself starting to fall asleep as the movie came to an end. Her eyes snapped open as the credits finished rolling. She was so tired she almost laid back down. Instead, her stiff arms pushed at the couch as she tried to get up. She let out a squeak as Theo’s arm tightened its hold and pulled her back into his chest.
"Theo-" She mumbled, half asleep. "-let me go."
"Mmh." He buried his face into her hair, taking a deep breath.
"I wanna go to bed." Her words slurred slightly, she was exhausted.
"Mmh." He groaned louder, getting irritated.
"Theo!" Her voice came out louder when he pulled her back to him again.
She heard him grumble, his body finally starting to move. She had expected him to leave or sleep on her couch but instead he lifted her over his shoulder and carried her to her bedroom.
"Put me down!" She felt herself starting to fully wake up.
"I don't have a bed yet." He tossed her to the center of her twin-sized bed, the same bed she's had since she was a teenager.
"Sleep on the couch." She turned her gaze from him, her body snuggling into her pillows and comforter.
"Nah." He pulled off his shirt, then unbuckled his pants and let them fall to the floor before crawling into the bed with her.
“Did you-” She turned to look at him, her eyes taking in his bare chest.
He definitely worked out because his muscles were bulging without flexing. Her eyes slowly traveling down to the dark happy trail between the deep V that led into his boxers. She swallowed at the lump in her through as her heart began acting up again. He climbed into bed with her, his arms wrapping around her and pulling her to him. His skin was hot, warming her better than her comforter.
“Do you have to lay like this?”
“If I don’t, I’ll fall off.” His lips were next to her ear as he spoke.
"Theo-" Her voice a breathy whisper.
This time he didn't say anything but nuzzled into her neck. His lips resting on her skin and his breath fanning over her. She tried once more to move, but her efforts were fruitless. She finally gave up, deciding sleep was betting than fighting a battle she’d never win and let herself fall back asleep.

Aurora woke to her alarm blaring in her ear. She smacked at it, her body stuck in the middle of her bed. She rubbed her eyes, then looked down. She was shocked to find Theo's arm still around her. She gently removed his arm, which was a lot easier now that he was sleeping and went to the bathroom to get ready. She took a quick shower, dried off and put on a clean set of matching bra and panties. Then she blow-dried and straightened her hair. Next, she did her make-up, her eyes staring at the reflection in the mirror as she worked.
"Wow."
She shrieked loudly, her hands grabbing her towel to cover her body. Theo stood in the door way, his hands casually resting on the top of the frame. He raised an eyebrow at her, his eyes hungrily looking over her lingerie. He had pulled on his jeans, the waist band of his boxers showing. Her eyes finding the V cut into his hips again, the happy tail that would lead to something forbidden.
"Get out!" She yelled, a finger pointing in the direction of her room.
"Why didn't you cuddle me like that?" He licked his lips as he stepped into the bathroom.
"Theo!" She shrieked, deciding to push past him and grab her work clothes. “I didn’t cuddle you. You were supposed to sleep on the couch, not my bed.”
“Aw, don’t be mean.”
Aurora dropped her towel, quickly squeezing into her pencil skirt and yanking her blouse over the top of her head. She always got dressed last to avoid getting any make-up, tooth paste, or water on her clothes. As she got dressed, she could feel his eyes on her, but pushed him from her mind. She needed to finish getting ready for work. She turned around to head to the kitchen and instead ran right into Theo. He had a shirt on now, but his hair had a sexy bed head look despite how short it was. She noticed his nose crinkle as he looked down at her.
“Get out of the way.” She groaned, she didn’t have time for this.
“Why are you wearing that shit?"
"Excuse me?"
"That." He twirled his finger in a circle around her face.
"Make-up? It's for work."
"What are you, a prostitute?"
"Wha- No!" She screamed at him.
She stormed past him and headed to the kitchen. She was so angry, she couldn't believe he had asked her that.
"Aurora-"
"Leave me alone." She snapped, she really didn't need his teasing right now.
She grabbed the food she had packed for lunch last night and went over to the door to slip on her black heels.
"Hey!" Theo growled behind her.
"I'm going to be late!" She spun around, her glare meeting his eyes.
"I'll drive you."
"No, you won't." She held eye contact with him, surprising herself that she was able to keep her confidence this morning. "My friend is picking me up."
"Friend?" His gazed darkened.
"Yes."
She turned away from him, her hand reaching for the door knob. His hands reached out, grabbing her hips and spinning her around to face him. One of his hands gripped her jaw and tilted her head up.
"I didn’t mean the prostitute thing.” He eyes staring deeply at her. “Where do you work?"
"Ulta." She sighed, knowing he wasn't going to let her go until she told him.
"What the fuck is that?" He narrowed his eyes.
"It's a make-up supply store." Her voice small, he was so intimidating.
"Why would you pick a make-up store?" He gave her a confused looked. "I thought you didn't like that stuff."
"I don't, but I guess I have a knack for putting it on others. Now, please let me go. I'm going to be late."
"What time do you get off?"
"Why?"
"I'll pick you up."
"I already have a ride." She tried to move, his grip remaining firm.
"That's not what I asked." His voice low.
"5pm. Now let go."
"That wasn't so hard." He leaned in, his lips kissing her cheek softly. "Next time, answer me the first time." His breath tickling her ear.
She sharply sucked in air, his gentle kiss sending butterflies into a flurry in the pit of her stomach. He released her and pulled open the door. He turned to look at her, waiting for her to walk out. He followed her to the elevator and rode it down with her. She kept her eyes away from him but her mind couldn't stop thinking about everything that's happened in the past 24 hours.
"Your face is turning bright red again." He stepped closer to her, his hand tilting her face toward him. "Are you thinking of me?" He smirked.
The moment the doors open, she bolted out and headed for Harper's car. She spotted it right away and walked as quickly as she could, her hand reach for the handle and whipped it open. She plopped down into her seat, door closed and belt on.
"Um, who's that?"
"Who?" She turned to look at Harper, then followed her eyes to The
o who was staring at her with a cigarette in his mouth.
"Please drive, I'll tell you once you do." She groaned, turning away from him and sinking into her seat.

"So?" Harper prodded, dragging out the small word. "Who’s the guy?"
